PRODUCT
As an ode to the typeface’s origins during the late 18th century, the aesthetic at the beginning of the book is reminiscent of the period and the manual, often time consuming nature of printing using a printing press. As the book continues the aesthetic evolves to be more modern and contemporary showcasing the letters as they were originally intended to be displayed to a more current application. The intention was to both recall the origins of typefaces, as well as evoke an appreciation for the timelessness of these fonts that have lasted centuries and are still in use today.
The copy is a quote from Bodoni himself, adding an additional layer of homage to its creator, while simultaneously reflecting on the beauty of type; the intention of the book itself.
